Double Crossbow
This launching arm can be considered one of the modern cannon forerunners.
The Scorpione launched iron - balls , stones & arrows at more than two hundred meters & with 
high precision as the 15 & 16 century powders did.



British Naval 12 Ib cannon

During the Napoleonic Wars, this naval 12 Ib. had more success against the French fleet than the more powerful 32 Ib. In 1858, its success was so great that naval architects began to design hulls that contained iron as a better defence against these guns. But this in turn only led to the design of more sophisticated cannons.









 

Falconet

This Falconet was designed by Leonardo Da Vinci. A modern chassis with re-designed sighting allowing for easy training & particularly with rear loading making this an excellent weapon.











Roman Catapult

It is most elementary launching arm based on the bow principle, it was used for towns and citadels capture and defence. The Roman Catapult launched stones or stone balls and sand leather bags to blind soldiers and riders.
